Looking to order a test, or need advice on what to do with your results? We can help with that! Connect with our team of representatives for expert guidance on all aspects of turf management.

Soil testing is a data-driven solution that helps you keep your soil healthy and ensures your turfgrass has the best conditions to grow. Soil tests measure the nutrient and pH levels of your topsoil, providing a detailed picture of your soil’s health and a roadmap of what additional applications you need for optimal growing conditions.

We recommend testing your soil:

  • Prior to planting grass in a new location for the first time.
  • When you’re monitoring nutrient and pH levels throughout the growing season.
  • When your turfgrass is experiencing growth issues.
  • Soil pH
  • Nutrient levels
  • Trace elements
  • Organic matter

Our Soil Testing Process:

Request Your Testing Bags

Testing bags are available at each D & K Warehouse location. Whether you use our bags or your own, it is important to collect a large enough sample.

Collect Your Sample

Make sure to dig 6 inches down and collect at least 2 cups soil per testing location. Make sure you label on the bag what location in your yard/field you collect your sample. Do not mix samples from multiple locations.

Return Your Sample to Your D & K Warehouse

We will make sure your sample gets to the appropriate testing laboratory.

Costs on testing vary, depending on what we are testing for. Once the soil samples are sent out, it takes approximately 2-3 weeks for test results to come back. A D & K Products representative will go through the results and recommendations with you. If you are testing for potential disease activity, please contact the office, as sampling for this may have different requirements.
